There's lots of information below. Frankly it's pretty overwhelming. If you prefer to talk with us then give us a call anytime (24/7). If you don't reach us feel free to leave us a voice mail and your cell phone number and we'll call you back.
Will this Thing Really Work?
We get that question all the time. Click HERE to see our page of testimonials. Also, please let us know if you'd like to speak with one of our existing customers. \
We designed and built SpyTrack. In other words, you are buying from the manufacturer. We spent hundreds of hours working with software, electrical, and network engineers to create SpyTrack. We stil talk with them every week to improve the product.
We are truly specialists. We sell only two products, one is SpyTrack our real-time tracker, the other is PassiveTrack our passive tracker. Need a hidden camera or voice recorder? Sorry, we can't help you. But if you want to talk about vehicle tracking we know an awful lot.
Finally, we give you 48 hours to try out SpyTrack. If you aren't satisfied return it and we'll refund all of your money except for the shipping costs.
How Often? How Accurate?
Every 2 minutes SpyTrack shows you very accurately (within 50 feet) where their car is right now and where it was earlier in the day, yesterday, or last week. However, the reported speeds are often off by 10-20 miles per hour.
History?
We archive your data for a minimum of 90 days so you can look back at where the vehicle has been.
How Many Locates?
You get over 20,000 locates per month. We've never had a customer go over that limit.
Battery Operated (No Wires!)
You either get two rechargeable batteries that last 5-10 days or for an extra $100 you can get two double batteries that last 10-20 days. Either way, you will get a second battery and a stand alone charger so you always have a freshly charged battery.
Antennae?
No external antenna is required.
Software to Install? PC and Mac Compatible?
There is no software to install. You login to our web site from any PC or Macintosh that has access to the Internet to track the device in real time.
Help I Hate Learning New Software!
We do too! The website is extremely simple. How simple? Click here for a demonstration. (When you are done with the demonstration please close the windows and you'll get back here).
How Big? Strong Magnets?
SpyTrack is roughly 6-1/2" x 4" x 2 1/2" and weighs less than 2 lbs. You can install SpyTrack underneath a car in seconds (with very strong magnets that hold on very tight) or you can hide it inside a car.
Where to Hide it?
We highly recommend you hide SpyTrack inside the vehicle. Why? It's much less likely to get found (say during a routine oil change). Also you look a lot less suspicious opening a trunk then you do crawling under a vehicle.
However, if you don't have access to get inside the vehicle then of course you can attach underneath the vehicle. (It's tricky attaching SpyTrack underneath BMWs, Mercedes, Porches, Volvos, and Corvettes because they have very little metal underneath. However, hiding it inside them is no problem).
Coverage?
SpyTrack will only work in areas that have Nextel coverage. Click here if you aren't sure if you have Nextel coverage in your area. However, if you have mediocre Nextel coverage in your area SpyTrack will generally work very well.
Why? SpyTrack sends out it's location every 2 minutes. If you miss a "locate" once every half an hour you probably won't be bothered. However, if you talk on a cell phone and once every half hour a call is dropped then you'll probably be dissatisfied. In other words, what is mediocre voice coverage is actually fine for vehicle tracking.
Tracking a Vehicle from Your Vehicle
You can track the vehicle from your vehicle if you have a PocketPC phone, Treo phone, or a laptop with a wireless connection. For private investigators this often makes sense. However for spouses being cheated on, employers checking on employees, or parents checking on teenage children it's not usually necessary.
We suggest you buy SpyTrack first and use it for a week or so. If you then feel you need to track it from your vehicle you can talk with your cell phone company (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular, Nextel, etc) about signing up for wireless Internet access.
Our experience suggests you probably won't need to go this effort or expense. Rather you'll probably either drive over and see the vehicle is where you saw it on your computer. Or you'll driver over, find the car isn't there, and then call someone you trust who is front of a computer. That person will login and tell you where the vehicle is located.
If You Purchase SpyTrack
Then you must either call us to add it onto an existing Nextel account or call us to set up a new Nextel account. Either way, if you purchase SpyTrack we will need to speak with you before we can ship SpyTrack to you.
Normally SpyTrack will be working the day you receive it but may take an extra day or two. Why? Nextel sometimes either has a backlog (for some "mysterious reason" this seems to happen mostly on Fridays) or they make a mistake when setting up your account. However, 95% of the time SpyTrack will be active and ready to go the day you receive it.
We charge $649 for SpyTrack with two batteries that last for 5-10 day or $749 for two batteries that last 10-20 days. Either way your monthly fees will be a little under $35 per month (Nextel's taxes vary around the country) Also, there's a $35 fee to set up your Nextel account. This fee shows up on your first Nextel bill. Nextel waives this fee if you already have a Nextel account that has 2 or more phones on it.
Finally there is shipping fee. Most people choose FedEx Standard Overnight for $29.95 which arrives the next business day by 3pm but there are several other shipping options.
If you have easy access to the vehicle, for example if you live with your spouse the two 5-10 day batteries should be fine. On the other hand, if you don't have easy access to the vehicle, for example if you are a private investigator, then we recommend you spend the extra $100 and get the two 10-20 day batteries.
To add SpyTrack to your existing Nextel account we need the exact spelling of your name as it appears on your Nextel bill and your Nextel phone number.
To open a new Nextel account we need to a credit check on you (or your business). If you have good credit this is generally simple and painless. If you don't have good credit then Nextel will generally require a $100 deposit.
We can open an account in your name or your business name. To open an account in your name we will need your social security number, driver's license, and date of birth. If you are uncomfortable giving us that information we understand.
We can try opening an account for you in your business name. In that case we will only need a federal tax identification number. However, to open an account in your business name your business itself needs to already have good credit.
After we set up your Nextel account you can "go paperless" (stop Nextel from mailing bills to you). Click here to sign up for paperless billing. Or you can have your bills sent to a PO Box or any other address to want.
Technically there is an annual contract but you can transfer your account back to us at anytime so effectively you can cancel at anytime without any early cancellation penalties.
If You Rent SpyTrack
You can order it right now without speaking to us. When you rent SpyTrack it will definitely be working right when you receive it. You do not need to worry about setting up a Nextel account because it is on our account.
We charge $299 (to get SpyTrack "in your hands") + $5 per day + a $300 deposit to rent SpyTrack with two batteries that last for 5-10 days or $349 (to get SpyTrack "in your hands") + $6 per day + a $350 deposit to rent SpyTrack with two batteries that last for 10-20 days.
If you have easy access to the vehicle, for example if you live with your spouse the two 5-10 day batteries should be fine. On the other hand, if you don't have easy access to the vehicle, for example if you are a private investigator, then we recommend you spend the extra $100 and get the two 10-20 day batteries.
For example, say you rented SpyTrack with two 5-10 batteries for a 14 days. You would have paid us $599 plus shipping. How did we get to $599? $299 is a non-refundable "get it in your hands fee" and $300 is a refundable deposit.
Therefore if you rented SpyTrack for 14 days we would subtract $70 from your deposit ($5 for each day X 14 days = $70). Therefore we would subtract $70 from your $300 deposit. You would receive $230 back.
Let's take another example. Say you rented SpyTrack with two 10-20 batteries for a 26 days. You would have paid us $699 plus shipping. How did we get to $599? $349 is a non-refundable "get it in your hands fee" and $350 is a refundable deposit.
Therefore if you rented SpyTrack for 26 days we would subtract $156 from your deposit ($6 for each day X 26 days = $156). Therefore we would subtract $156 from your $350 deposit. You would receive $194 back.
For the first month we subtract the $5 or $6 per day from your deposit of $300 or $350. After that your deposit so low that we will bill you we charge you $5 or $6 a day separately.
Should You Buy or Rent?
We get that question pretty frequently.
If you are going to use the unit for a week or two, what we call a "one and done" type of situation, renting is the best be for you. For spouses this usually means you "have one foot out the door" but "just want to make sure." Or you probably already have a court date (to get a divorce or try to get custody).
On the other hand, if you think you will need it for more than a month, what we call "ongoing surveillance" then buying is a better deal for you.
If you aren't sure then you are probably better off buying. We find most people keep rental units much longer than they expect.
Once people start using these units something very predictable happens... they enjoy the power of knowing the truth. The truth may set you free, but it will usually means that you keep SpyTrack longer than you may think!
If you have any questions (and most people do) please give us a call. |
